WHICH PHOTO?

Just getting a box together, I'm sending some stuff toVivi in Santa Fe. She will be receiving the group of insect cuffs I've been working on. Butterflies, beetles and bees. Oh My! So while I was out in the sunshine snapping pictures I was trying to figure out what looks best. Do we like neat and in a row or a haphazard look. Is a plain background better than a busy one with pretty flowers. The question is "How do you take photographs to compliment the beadwork." What do you like?

  1. I like the haphazard look, with the simpler background. Stunning designs and beadwork!

  2. Plain & simple is my vote ... allows your beadwork to *shine* without all the distractions. The 3rd photo down - on plain, greyed wood - is a gorgeous way to show them off. And I'd vote for the staggered look of the 2nd photo down, BUT .... I would straighten them to be all on the same angle. Just my two cents worth. GORGEOUS work!!

  3. Kate, can you take a photo of all the work (gorgeous, by the way!) again on a plain pale background? Love the photos of the work all together - but background is competing. Jeanne Evans

  4. I'm afraid Jeanne Evans is right Kate. The background in these photos is competing with your gorgeous beadwork.

  7. I like the random grouping on plain wood; random better than a row.....background competes...lovely work, as always

  9. I know this comes a little late but I agree that is should be a plain background. I wonder what it would have looked like if they were in the grass vs the wood? I do think the moth on the plain wood is really neat as the two knots in the wood really make the bracelet POP! Such BEAUTY you create. XOXO!
